RGU is a modern university in Aberdeen of over 30,000 students. The city-centre campus at Schoolhill is the hub of student social life; a second campus lies just under three miles away at Garthdee. The emphasis at RGU is firmly on vocational and professional courses – indeed, it calls itself "the professional university" – and a wide range of placement options is on offer, in Britain and abroad. As a result, RGU has one of the best graduate recruitment records in the UK. In the past decade, the university has invested over £100m to improve its facilities. A further £110m investment is planned over the next few years to make the Garthdee site "the best riverside campus in Europe". Aberdeen is a smart and pleasant city with a cosmopolitan and rather wealthy feel to it. It's affectionately called the Granite City after the primary building material, and it really does sparkle in the sun.

Scottish and EU students from outside the UK pay no tuition fees. For other UK students, annual tuition fees will be £1,820 in 2009-10.

Aberdeen's compact size makes it easy to get around the city and between the two campuses. Aberdeen is two and half hours' drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and there are regular rail and bus services to most major towns and cities in the UK.
